Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM)

Proactive Maintenance, not Reactive Maintenance

Basic Overview

Go Monitor provide a range of wireless, intuitive, and quick to deploy condition-based monitoring sensors.

They are compatible with The Go Monitor Cloud Platform, allowing you to manage your data and receive alerts when you most need them.

Condition based monitoring (CBM) is an essential tool for maintenance processes and delivers a range of benefits such as:

Cost-Effectiveness: CBM helps in predicting equipment failures before they occur, allowing for scheduled maintenance rather than reactive maintenance. This approach is more cost-effective as it reduces unplanned downtime and prevents costly repairs or replacements.

Increased Equipment Reliability: By continuously monitoring the condition of equipment, CBM enables timely detection of abnormalities or degradation in performance. Addressing these issues promptly can prolong the lifespan of equipment and improve its reliability.

Enhanced Safety: Timely detection of equipment faults through CBM can prevent accidents or malfunctions that could compromise safety in industrial settings, hazardous environments, or critical infrastructure.

Optimised Maintenance Scheduling: CBM provides insights into the actual condition of equipment, allowing maintenance activities to be scheduled based on need rather than on a fixed time interval. This helps in optimising maintenance schedules, reducing unnecessary maintenance tasks, and maximising equipment uptime.

Data-Driven Decision Making: CBM relies on data collected from sensors and monitoring systems. Analysing this data provides valuable insights into equipment performance trends, allowing for data-driven decision-making regarding maintenance strategies, equipment upgrades, or replacements.

Reduced Downtime: By detecting potential failures in advance, CBM minimises unplanned downtime by allowing maintenance teams to address issues before they escalate into major problems. This is especially crucial for critical equipment in industries where unplanned downtime can result in significant financial losses.

Improved Productivity: With less downtime and optimised maintenance schedules, CBM contributes to improved productivity by ensuring that equipment is available and operating efficiently when needed.

Environmental Impact: CBM can contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of industrial operations by minimising resource wastage associated with reactive maintenance practices and by optimising energy consumption through improved equipment efficiency.

ISO Compliance, Trending and Alerting

The Go Monitor wireless vibration sensor monitors your critical machines using a periodic 10kHz sample.

The high frequency data is analysed and converted into ISO 10816-1 compliant measurement insights.

These are then transmitted to The Go Monitor Cloud platform for data storage, visualisation, and alerting.

If vibration patterns on your machine are starting to drift out of compliance, the platform will make you aware so you can review and act long before a disruptive failure sets in.
